[It was resolved in the Midterm central council meeting (MIDERMACON 2005) not to enroll any non-dermatologists, without any degree or diploma in the subject of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology as member of IADVL, so all the rules relating to membership criteria mentioned below will also change accordingly]
Life Members:
- Any person eligible for Ordinary membership may on paying a lump sum as mentioned hereinafter; at one time become a Life Member, and will enjoy all the privileges of an ordinary member. The Life members on the present roster of the IADVL will continue as members for life.
- All life members should be provided with a badge and a certificate with the emblem of IADVL on it.
- Postgraduate students after passing their degree / diploma are eligible to become life members. All life members should be provided with a badge with the emblem of IADVL on them. Photo-identity card and new life membership certificate has to be issued to each life member.
- The updated constitution to be published should be distributed to all life members free of cost by the Honorary General Secretary and Treasurer.
- The life membership number should be in continuation and there should be no duplication of numbers, and new numbers should be given.
Ordinary Members:
- Medical Practitioners with qualification in Allopathic Medicine under the Indian Medical Degrees act, 1916 Clause 2 Act VII and registrable with any of the State Medical Councils of India and possessing a Post-Graduate qualification in Dermatology, Venereology and / or Leprology.
NB. : Notwithstanding anything contained in the above, existing ordinary members will continue to be so, irrespective of their academic qualifications.
Associate Members:
Registered Medical Practitioners of the Allopathic system of Medicine who are interested in Dermatology, Venereology and/ or Leprology or their allied subjects but who do not either possess a post-graduate qualification or who do not exclusively or primarily engage themselves in the practice, teaching and/ or research of Dermatology, Venereology and / or Leprology or their allied branches may be admitted as Associate members on the recommendation of the Executive Committee of the Branch, but such members will have neither voting rights nor they will be eligible to stand for any elective posts.
Ordinary and Associate Membership fees shall be paid in advance by the end of December for the following year:

All membership fee shall be nonrefundable and nontransferable.
The rate of subscription shall automatically increase at the rate of ten per cent every two years for a period of ten years, after which the format for increase in membership fees is to be reconsidered again. The treasurer shall inform the Branches well in advance about the increased rate.
After 31st March only Life Membership contribution / subscription shall be accepted. *A/c Payee DD in the name of 'IADVL – Name of the Branch'. Confirm the details with your branch secretary
*One must join a State Branch of IADVL when one exists or a neighbouring State Branch. If none of these exist, one can become a Direct (Central) Member.
