Dear IADVL members,
It gives us immense pleasure to call
for applications for observerships at Sivananda Rehabilitatation home for
Leprosy at Hyderabad with Dr Ananth Reddy, chief administrator, as the contact
person. The selected candidates would undergo a 3 weeks training
in the following areas of leprosy management:
1. Physiotherapy
2. Reconstructive Surgery
3. Ulcer debridement & Skin
grafting
4. MCR footwear
5. Clinical lab - Skin Smear
Examination
The center can accommodate a maximum of
6 candidates in a year. (3<35 and 3>35). Those < 35 years will
receive a stipend of Rs 10000 and all candidates will receive certificates on
completion
Applicants
should have obtained their degree or diploma in dermatology (and not still
pursuing their studies). They should not be working in the same institution.
They must not have availed Observerships or Training Fellowships in the past
and will have to undertake to complete the Observership within the stipulated
time (2019), failing which they may not be considered for future Observerships
or Scholarships through or from the IADVL.

The list of successful candidates, selected by the IADVL Academy on the basis
of merit and the possible utility of the training in the discharge of their
duties will be announced by 7th August 2019. Any stipend will be
disbursed only after successful completion of the Observership on receipt of
the feedback form from both the Program Director and Observer, as well as a
brief report of his or her experience of the same.
