President's message will be updated shortly...

Dear Members,

It is with deep humility, optimism, and a sense of shared purpose that I address you as the President of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL).

IADVL is more than an association-it is a living collective of ideas, values, and people committed to advancing our specialty and serving society. As we begin this academic year together, we stand at a moment of immense opportunity: to reflect on our legacy, embrace change, and shape a future that is academically robust, ethically grounded, and socially responsive.

Academic excellence remains the cornerstone of IADVL. We will continue to strengthen our educational platforms, encourage meaningful research, and promote evidence-based practice that meets global standards while addressing local needs. At the same time, we must embrace innovation-new technologies, new learning models, and new ways of thinking that will define the future of dermatology.

Learning should be inclusive and easy for each member without any barrier of age, interest and place of work. As we engage in healthy exchange of ideas and knowledge, we keep multiplying the same.

Our greatest strength lies in unity. Across regions, generations, and subspecialties, IADVL thrives when we work together with mutual respect and a shared vision. Special focus will be placed on mentoring and empowering young dermatologists, nurturing their skills, curiosity, and leadership so they can confidently carry the torch forward.

Today, we are 19000 members strong, we must engage with other societies across the globe for exchange of knowledge and to make IADVL a global platform.

Equally important is our responsibility beyond clinics and conferences. Through public outreach and advocacy, we must amplify awareness, combat stigma, and ensure that dermatological health remains a vital part of public health conversations. Our collective voice can make a meaningful difference.

This journey is not led by one individual, but by all of us-through participation, dialogue, and collaboration. I invite every member to engage actively, contribute ideas, and take pride in shaping the evolving story of IADVL.

Together, let us move forward with vision, integrity, and purpose-honoring our past while boldly building our future. The path ahead is ambitious, but it is achievable-because it is collective.

  • Stronger Member Engagement:

    • Generating additional chances for professional networking, exchanging knowledge, fostering leadership growth within IADVL and taking every member along the path of progress.

  • Empowering Dermatologists:

    • Enhancing academic efforts by improving CME programs specially for the ones in practice, developing digital learning platforms for all, and providing mentorship for emerging young professionals.

  • Ethical & Inclusive Practice:

    • Promoting ethical practices in dermatology and tackling new challenges being faced everyday by not only beginners but also the well-established ones.

    • Supporting policies that safeguard and improve our profession.

  • Advancing Research & Innovation:

    • Promoting clinical and translational research initiatives.

    • Supporting partnerships and advancing evidence-informed dermatological practices.

  • Public Awareness & Advocacy:

    • Heading national initiatives focused on skin health, STIs, and raising awareness about leprosy.

    • Countering public myths and stigma by means of education and community outreach.

    • Helping the underprivileged specially the elderlies, destitutes, orphans and the physically or mentally challenged individuals and those left uncared for in the society.

With warm regards and best wishes,

Long live IADVL, Jai Hind.
